Aw Hell Naw!

Some research done by syniper (duff) on the seemingly random ranking system:
Ranking Rumors:

--------------------------------

you need about 4 wins for each loss to move up

on average wins = 20 points, on average losses = -70 points

---------------------------------

The more people playing in a game has an effect on the points earned/loss

---------------------------------

The grades of each player playing in a game has an effect on the points earned/loss

---------------------------------

A shut out has an effect on the points earned/loss

---------------------------------

"I have a theory. The computer player skill attributes are an average of of the human players. Perhaps the goalie attributes are averaged from our goalie skill points as well???

Do we all have our goalie skill points applied?"
--Duff

So just in case this is right (which it very well could be since our computer players always suck) apply all your points including goalie points just in case.

Team Pensblog AAA official marketing slogan has been announced. They have decided upon an eloquent phrase that really captures the nuances of the sport of hockey. The new slogan is: "Aw Hell Naw!"
It figures to be popular with fans and players alike.

This game (along with the epic fail of last night by the Pens) is crushing my soul so I'm taking a couple days off to recuperate.
Go win some games.

Aw Hell Naw! I likes it!

Hopefully I don't say that too much in the coming games though...

It is impossible to say it too much. You have to give a little southern twang to it though. Like "Aw Hail Nawww"

Hey guys! I've been busy with other crap... which makes no sense because I have nothing to do and no life... but whatever, don't delete me from the team yet! I will be back! :D

I have over 150 games but, I need an A- to rank up. I would like to get in a few games with the following line-up:
L:Pockets C:Klown R:Crveza
LD:myself RD:Zero/adamC

Sh0e8 would be great for RD also!

thanks duff.

do i suck that bad?

Those are the people I have experienced many great games with and have nothing to do with the rest of team pens blog. I am close to leveling and a A- is required.
I am just asking for a few games with a squad I have built chemistry with, that's all. This is not a constant, but a few games in order to level.

I will continue to... and have been playing with anyone who is online.

Dont be afraid to pass the puck back in order to move it forward, it spreads the forwards out and allows the rest of the offense to get it together. Also pass it back once you get into the zone. I get tired of seeing people just rush in and take a bad shot and turn it over. Let the offense get setup and pass it around once in a while.

Crvesa, we had our first loss out of about 10 games last night... and the had to cheat to do it....

I need the A- as well and this game hates me so i'll have a 5 point night and get a C- in team play because of centering passes that don't connect etc. Its bull.

ARGH!!!

My XBoX just died on me tonight while playing NHL 09. 3 Red Lights...typical. I'll be out until I receive the replacement guys. Please don't kick me off the team!

OH NOES!!!!
The birdman goes on IR.

Happened to me about 3 months ago.
I got mine back in 10 days.
Took about 3 days to get the packing box.

Zach Boslett said...

Firebird you sucked anyway so you are off the team. So is Klown, syniper, and everyone else!
Nobody has even been removed even though they haven't been on in nearly 2 months. Any chance jrkrush or cowboyfan would be willing to give GM priveledges to klown or syniper or myself? We are on very often(read: too much, no life) and would be able to do our GMey duties more frequently

Pockets, you could certainly pick no finer people to drive this team into the... err... lead this team to victory.

But really, something needs done. Not that we have bunches of people on our doorstep waiting to get in, but there's too many inactive people and a few that have a blatant disregard of how one is supposed to play the game.

Play your position. I cant stand seeing people chasing in the defensive zone. And is it against the rules to set something up in the offensive zone? No!!!!!! Use the defense to spread out their players, a D to D pass across the blue line gets their players moving and creates other passing and shooting lanes.

F1reb1rd said...

Hahah, thanks pockets :P

This is my 2nd XBox that died. This one was a replacement for my original one. So the "fixed" XBox died too.

Shenanigans.

Justin,

I definitely agree with you. However, when I'm playing, the team tends to score most of our goals on the rush.

I'm not averse to trying to set some stuff up once we're in the zone. At the same time, I'd also need to trust that as soon as the defender gets it, he doesn't instantly wind up for a slapper and have it blocked by the opposing forward for a breakaway. I've seen that happen far too often off of faceoffs in the offensive zone.

I'll be back more consistantly after the world series. Work is kicking my butt too much, I haven't had much time to play lately! Hope you missed me!
